The BBC article underestimates the size if the scam. By my research its probably between £250million and £500million. MH Carbon took over £18million and Eco Global Markets over £8million and they are only two of very many.
So the Insolvency service has closed down 19 of them. So what. Where are...
BobbyBB - yes, but I want to focus on taking action. One of the players in this market in Carbon-ex (based in Lux). They have sold credits direct but also through a number of brokers including MH Carbon.
Regardless of who you bought them through your contract is probably with Carbon-ex (through...
I am as sure as one can be that CNI have offset the Formula 1 team. Its obviously a big marketing coup for them although the volume of credits involved is actually pretty small. I do appear to have their attention at least, as the MD is now responding personally to my queries. We will see!
Quite likely. But as the saying goes, don't get mad, get even. Bombard the FSA, the Financial Ombudsan, the OFT, the Fraud Office and your MP. You may not get your money back, but put your efforts into closing these b**tards down.
It gets worse. I paid my money to CNI (not to the broker), but have not received the credits I paid for. CNI tell me this was due to an error by their supplier. But they also say they have no responsibility for this. As far as I know CNI could have misapprehended my funds. This is now fraud. The...
Re: Noble wealth management.
It seems likely that a position that only pays commission is going to be about 'sell, sell, sell' rather than considerug investors interests. When you talk about 'wasting his money on all the cost' are you saying they are not even going to pay his flights and/or...
I have not given up hope of finding a way to sell my credits - but am wary of any company that tells me I have to buy more to bceome a client. Carbonex gave me a specific exit plan with a date and a price in writing - which is why I am sueing them.
Hi Jason. That seems to be what they offering all clients who bought VCS credits. No chance I'm giving them more money on the basis of another promise.
Not sure what it means that they are not allowed to handle client money yet we pay them directly?? Not surprisingly they have referred me back to the broker.
The two wholesalers who supply credits to the majority of brokers in the Carbon market are Carbonex (based in Lux) and Carbon Neutral Investments (CNI) who are UK based FSA regulated. If you have been mis-sold credits through broker with CarbonEx you can go after them (as I am) via the agency...
MH Carbon were a classic case of this. There comes a point this becomes mis-representation in law - which (if proven) allows you to render the contract null and you get your money back (plus interest). Here's the issues: 1 You have to show mis-representation (better in writing than on the basis...
