    Why I hate Forex

If you need API connection check Open API and FIX , both available with Spotware's cTrader. The second option is JForex API by Dukascopy. Also, FXCM API is quite a reasonable way to go for algo trading. All APIs mentioned above allows you to bypass the trading platform and connect to the...

Could you automate what you do?

Thanks. I do not need to hire anybody, I'm capable to create algo in C#/Python by myself. I've been demoing from last week my algorithm. It's early to make any conclusions and still a lot to do. The work in progress: https://fxmerge.com/strategies-results/405/oil-basket

The way how majority of prop firms likely operate (?)

Those firms we see throwing their hands everywhere, as you said, are rather casinos than serious prop firm businesses. I guess that sooner or later regulators will act.

Depth of Market: what is it, who uses it?

Agree, spoofing is a big disadvantage for using DOM. It can be maybe filtered algorithmically, but I'm not sure if it is worth an effort for retail traders. NV is not a bad "investment", he is explaining a lot of things for trading newcomers. His whole trading concept is based on Volume...

    MT5 or cTrader?

For manual trading? Apart from the subjectivity (everybody likes different platforms), the platform one uses does not matter, any platform works well if you know what you are doing. After all, it's just an order placing vehicle with a charting ability.

Do candle stick patterns work better on daily charts than intra day ?

Do candle stick patterns work better on daily charts than intraday? We live in the 21st century hence I'd rather ask whether candlestick patterns are still relevant on markets being effectively made by algorithms.

    The incoming BTC crash

There is no such thing as value in crypto world. Price of the coins is backed only by herd's hopes and believes.

There are hardly any guaranteed edges in Forex trading - but here's one that will never fail.

<sarcasm> If you have pocket deep enough price always returns back to MA! </sarcasm>

There are hardly any guaranteed edges in Forex trading - but here's one that will never fail.

Indeed, the mean reversion rocks! Return to the mean is a concept that fits my trading personality, but not in a way described in this thread. My trading concept is based on finding cointegrated assets (2, 3 or even more), calculate their spread, and zScore, hedge ratios and spread's half-life...

The way how majority of prop firms likely operate (?)

Even though I sort of agree with your opinion the thread's subject is not about courses but about "business" called prop firms in which so-called pro firms scout wannabe traders and operate rather like the Ponzi scheme. But yeah both businesses, course and prop, is overcrowded with a lot of...

    Identifying chart patterns

Apologies, my English is quite limited so let me reference this article How Divergence In Correlated Assets Can Help You Add An Edge To Your Trading. The first part speaks about correlations, which is quite a known subject to everybody. However, the section How Can One Benefit From These...
