For me (and as i have read on this forum-for many others) spreadbetting connotates of gambling and is something i avoid - i stick to CFDs but then thats an entirely personal opinion - but then i also dont like to play zero sum games - and spreadbetting is exactly that if you want to papertrade...

I have tried IG Markets and eTrade in the past - they are both direct access and hence no spreads - WYSIWYG - on the other hand i know that CMC Markets does CFDs too but is not direct access (and hence the no commission banter from them) i think for CFDs IG Markets is top class.

One more vote for price action vs. TA for day trading - just that i use price action in conjunction with Level 2. Also i trade three phases in a day - I use price action+ Level2 predominantly for phase 1(first 20-30 mins) - for the rest of the day (except the last hour) i use basic TA - RSI,MACD...

why not try daytrading chat rooms? the fees is nothing like one-one coaching but you get actual traders putting their mouth where there words are - i am doing that on a popular day trading chat room and love it - its for US equities though but surely principles of day trading dont change?
