Anyone here figure out a way to import intraday ASCII data into Global Server: 2000i?

newtrader, you are talking about tradestation 8.x, correct? i just tested this and i can select the folder with the data but on my ADD/Edit Data Source screen tradestation wants to know a prefix...there is a blank field with +...what do type in there? i have typed in ASC and when i select the...

Anyone here figure out a way to import intraday ASCII data into Global Server: 2000i?

clipper, in the help file does nothing stand from global server. you can only import an ascii file direct to an workspace or chart. once this is done you can update the ascii file and the chart will be updatet. but you cannot do it via global server. if you have only ascii files you do not need...

sure it doesn't depend on the indicator. you will find same setup's like ANTI, J-Hook, Zero Line rejection also with stochastic or CCI. i thing linda raschke and woody have found most of these setups. they all give fancy names but at least it's all the same. also www.dacharts.com is a good...

    Trading Chaos by Bill Williams

hi, nice to see that there is some life in this thread. i have replaced the fractal levels against a simple donchian channel (20 days). here i can see support and resistance and breakout failures. at least for me this worked better on daily charts. i still have some problems with the v3...

maybe you are right. but in the long run you will have a better risk-reward chance if you use a systematic entry trigger. i for one look for a trigger. no trigger no trade. at least i look for chick's SL line to come back the zero line. i don't like the feelings, i like much more statistics.

tgm, looking at your er2 60min chart. where did you found an entry after price has crossed below the midband and the ma50?? price falls like a knife and just looking at the 3/10 i would not have seen an entry with a moderate risk for a stop placement. would it be possible to put up today after...

"Trading Day by Day" by Chick Goslin

for sure you can do that. i see no problem. it depends on your risk management. the only thing you should realize is that if you trade in the direction with the trend in the higher TF you should be aware that the trend in the lower daily is almost over because the trend starts in the lower TF...

as chorlton said, there is no reason not to use the indicators/setups on weekly charts. i trade on daily charts but i have always a look on the weekly. and if i can see a divergence in the weekly i try to avoid an entry. especially in fast running markets you will have a lag with the entry on...

    Trading Chaos by Bill Williams

in my opinion ( but i have to admit i never met bill w.) he is much more a writer than a trader. and if you follow his book developement and with this his setups, you will find, that he trades one pattern setup, one indicator setup and swinghigh/ swinglow breakouts. nothing new under the sun...
