These are two completely different systems. No relation in their methods or in the people who sell them, as far as I know. The word "edge" is a very common term in trading...everyone wants to find one. I'm sure there are systems besides these that use that term in their title as well.

Go to page 17 and find the post by VisionTrader with an attachment named "hott trade description.doc". If you open the attachment (Word document) and zoom in, you'll see the settings are very similar...as is the chart. Regards, jsp

I received the materials. I then did a little research with Wally's suggestiona and found this thread at Elitetrader from 2003. Lots of posts in the thread, but if you go through them you'll find at least one document with an explanation of the system and settings that are, well, quite uncanny...

The only potential advantage would be that The Edge (or any countertrend method) would put you in the long-term trend's direction earlier than an MA crossover, since you're entering at a reversal point. But perhaps an MA or breakout system would be more reliable since you're actually waiting...
