Trading news headlines automatically via an algo

Many thanks Tim. Little bit of background....! I have traded full time for over 20 years and really only trade off news events. Now coding up data releases and scheduled events is pretty straightforward and can be set up to trigger automatic buy or sells. What I want to be able to do is have...

Trading via LLC -- want to touch base with someone who trades via an LLC entity

I think you have it slightly wrong. I trade via a LLC and from what I recall when I set it up (in 2002) it must have 2 directors but can be wholly owned by one person. However where you may be getting confused is in the area of tax. The reason people trade via an LLC is for the limited...

    Best Thread Capital Spreads

But if you trade frequently its not tax free anyway. And work out the difference in spread - pay the tax. I agree ECNs aren't perfect but there would always be more liquidity via an ECN than any providers own platform, I should imagine.

    Best Thread Capital Spreads

Why would any short term trader, making decent money and presumably trading relatively full time, want to use a spread bet account and not an ECN type set up anyway. Unless the only reason they were using a platform was because it was not upating prices as quickly as the underlying market?

Capital Spreads - Wot A Pile Of Xxxx

I have used London Capital for a number of years on fx, albeit not via their spread betting platform. I can not speak highly enough of them. By far the most professional of my counterparties and whenever there has been the odd issue (which there is bound to be) they have responded very quickly.

    London prop Traders /locals

To date I pay myself what I need to live etc in dividends and retain the rest in the company. If I ever wanted to withdraw all the extra profit from the company there there is a slightly more legit way than Arabaian suggests to do this. Close the company down. The tax paid on withdrawing the...

Wanted: UK Tax Adviser familiar with trading

If you are classified as a pro trader you would pay income tax and not CGT on trading profits. Likewise spread bets would not be tax free. It would depend on other sources of income (eg if you had a full time non trading related full time job) and also frequency of trades. If it is deemed that...

    Bloomberg Terminal

In terms of functionality there are loads of differences and Bloomberg is really more geared towards the bond and equity markets than say the fx. I really only use either for the news headlines and a bit of techincal analysis. You will find though that the interbank fx market only really uses...

Why do you not trade using news?

What a shame. Despite all the evidence being visible on the charts Black Swan has chosen not to post a single bit of evidence supporting his claim. How odd.

Why do you not trade using news?

You have asked for evidence that news can move the markets and I provided what I believe to be pretty compelling proof. Fair enough you disagree, that is why there is a market after all. But rather than dismiss my answer as emotional perhaps you can please post your evidence as to why the 3...

"Trading news"; please post examples as of Monday

Posted this on another thread but seems more relevant here. I am not saying either that you can't trade off a chart - there are thousands of different succesful styles after all. But to bash news as a method of making money is ignorant. I have traded news for 20 years, even before you could do...

Why do you not trade using news?

Blimey there is some rubbish written here. I have traded news for 20 years, even before you could do it on the internet and had to call for a price. Sure the price reacts quicker these days but you can still trade it. To the oh so special Black Swan. When the gilt auction failed then Uranus...

    currenex broker

I think you missed the point of what I was saying. No legitimate currenex broker could afford to charge $5 a side let alone $2.50. Much as I would like to pay, say $2.5, per 5m trade it isn't feasible. If they really are claiming this I would avoid at all costs.
