Don't do it. Get the best interest rate for a one year fixed account. You want the house and investing in the market could mean you lose it. I don't post much, but this is serious advice! John

Just filed my UK 2012/2013 tax return including options (netted against stocks, UTs and ITs) and I only account for the option gain/loss when made - either on expiry or when closed. In my view when you receive/pay the cash is irrelevant since there is no "disposal" until expiry or sale to close...

Go and check out the Liffe site - it tells you various brokers in the UK and will answer lots of your questions. I would recommend FXCM (ODL). Alternatively (and much cheaper) Interactive Brokers, but there is not much help there if things goes wrong! John

Wouldn't worry about this if you are properly declaring tax in the UK

Use IG from time to time and liked the idea of the custom options, but on studying them the offers were very poor I thought. Never did a trade as none seemed worthwhile.

Hi TraderMic - I doubt it, but I have never tried to input a spread on mybroker as ODL (FXCM) don't allow a sale to open online as far as I am aware (sale to close is fine). If you know differently, I would be very interested to hear. To be fair, I haven't re-checked this snce FXCM took ODL...
