Long and short positions are combined into a single spread position. Therefore, the long and short positions do not reach stop losses, only the single spread position can reach a stop loss. Although I'm not sure if Anton is teaching calculating spread trading in that manner. With stocks this...

As I understand things it is the spread you are trading, not the individual directions of the positions. In the above example you are taking the position that LLOY will outperform HSBA, i.e. that the spread between the two securities will widen. In most spread trades you will have one winning...

Thanks again everyone. These are good responses. ISM and ESI reports? Any others that Anton mentions to look at?

Thanks D1888. I think I know a fair bit already and have a good understanding of what a "top down macroeconomic asset allocation" trading strategy actually is so I may not come away with much learning. Anton is releasing a few books on his trading approach over the next few years. I may save my...

Thanks for responding. That sounds disappointing, as I was expecting this course to far more comprehensive, especially with 35 hours of video material. I'm sure I would learn something though. However, do you feel you can take the foundation provided in this course and develop it yourself...

Thanks for sharing. I've been thinking about buying this course. How large a part does volatility play in his investment process? Is he selecting the most volatile financial instruments to trade?

    Esignal for Options Trading?

I've been hunting around for a while and I can vouch for the above statement. Much easier just to give up on UK equity options and instead trade US equity options. Even Hoadley no longer offers any sort of connection to LIFFE traded options.

    Opinions of Tradestation?

And will Tradestation allow me to perform in-depth volatility analysis on implied and historical volatility?

    Opinions of Tradestation?

Sure. But will that amount of starting capital qualify me for full use of the backtesting system? What about if I make one trade a month or less?

    Tradestation for Options Trading?

I am interested in using Tradestation for trading options. In particular I am interested in using the platform to backtest options trading strategies. I am unaware of any other cost effective system that would allow to do backtesting on options. OptionVue will but that is out my price range...

Incorporating Volatility and Beta as Filters?

Hi, what is everyone's opinion on incorporating the volatility and beta of an asset as filters into their trading system? For instance, are stocks with high historical volatility better candidates to use in a trend following system than stocks with low volatility. Or do high volatility stocks...

    Esignal for Options Trading?

Ok scrap that. I just found out that Esignal does not provide any coverage on UK equity options. I can find plenty of platforms that provide US equity options data but I am struggling to find a moderately priced software platform that can do the same for UK equity options data. Anyone have...
