    Investment/pension held in spread bets

Futures already have the cost of maintaining the position for the specified amount of time built into the price.

    Investment/pension held in spread bets

I think it's a bad idea. And i'll tell you why... You don't own anything with a spreadbet position. If I was investing for retirement I would want to actually have something that I can hold, sell and smell... or a piece of paper that says the professionals are managing it for me. You have to...

    New CMC= No re-quotes?

Had a call the other day from CMC about a demo I set up on the new platform. Apparently existing account holders have to set up a new account for the new platform and there are no re-quotes! Does this sound too good to be true?

Can something like Bloomberg give you an edge?

Do you think that a guy trading from home can make up the cost of buying a bloomberg? Is it worth it?

    No dealing desk spreadbetting

Does anybody know of any spreadbetting companies that offer straight through processing? If not, why don't they exist?

    Capitalizing on delayed correlation?

Hi all, Markets tend to be correlated and movement's in certain instrument spur on moves in others, how quickly this occurs and to what extent these other markets move is a fascinating thing. Do any of you watch moves in index's or oil and then trade FX or Gold based on how they reacted...

    Dow 2007

You are right about that! I don't trade full time so leave my orders in the book, although I am bullish I have no doubt it will be a bumpy ride this week. With that in mind I have pulled the order up to 13425 (and cut it in half untill 13600) and bought alot of yen for the volatility. JK

    Dow 2007

Thank you, I hope it works out. I have semi-hedged my exposure by buying JPY against a basket of currencies and I plan to exit that position once we see the dow trading the sunny side of 13550. My JPY position equates to just over half of my dow exposure and I will be watching closely over...

    Dow 2007

I have an order to buy £8pp at 13370 with a stop at 12950. This is a big trade for me but I really do feel we have heard all of the bad news from the banks, we have seen the central banks unite and now we have seen a series of rate cuts. In the short term I think it will be choppy but can't see...
