Hi, This is a question for the UK traders. What effective instruments are there for when the market is going sideways or entering a downward trend?

It does seem like a decent alternative. So how do people enhance the percentage gain on the stocks? For instance, what strategies would I undertake if the market is bearish or going sideways if I am unable to use options.

Well as a UK resident it would make trading these instrument easier for myself. It also would mean I would not have to take into account foreign exchange fluctuations. I also would like to sell options against my Stocks held in the UK
