I've just been reading the sales letter for RH's new strategy, "Anytime Trader". Here are my initial thoughts: * With trades lasting "no longer than one hour and a half" it sounds like the strategy is based on a low timeframe, perhaps hourly candles. * Stop loss is 40 pips. * Take profit...

I agree... not holding out too much hope I must admit!

Got this email yesterday from Richard Hill via Forex Round-up: I've been busy... In fact, I've been testing this now for more than eight months – I started in March this year. Since then, if you'd had been doing this too, you'd have already racked up a tax-free £2,594. And that's with...

Have any of you who purchased FMT seen the email from Mark Fric about his new EA builder, Genetic Builder? Looks like he's created a bit of a monster, the sort of thing you could spend hours and hours experimenting with. Hard to know how effective it is without having a go, but I'd be...

OK, will be interesting to hear from you and Marcus about how that goes. For the time being I'm pretty pleased with WallStreet robot, got over 400 pips with that last month (on a live account).

Has anyone seen the Forex Roundup email from Agora offering a 50% discount on Newsnight Trader? Is anyone still trading it, it looks like it might be a break-even system so far?

Yeah I've been looking at MDP too. It's one of the cheaper EAs at $99 but like you I'm concerned just how effective it will be once slippage etc is taken into account. Plus SmartLive (now GKFX) aren't exactly the most reliable brokers out there, so if anyone wants to spreadbet in the UK using...

Cheers Marcus, look forward to seeing how your backwash account goes. Very interested as to how well MDP will perform on SLM - my suspicion is that the slippage will be shocking for a scalper like this that targets only a few pips. However some people seem to be getting good results from MDP so...

Virtual Private Servers - to run EAs

Very true, but theres always the risk (no matter how small) that your PC could start an electrical fire while the house was unattended. Very unlikely i know, but vps also have other benefits such as faster trade executions and pretty much zero maintenance.

Virtual Private Servers - to run EAs

Personally I use SWtech (Swtech.ie - UK OpenVZ, XEN, Linux, Windows VPS Servers) although it has not been a smooth ride. I've now got everything set up and working very nicely indeed, although SWTech had to replace the memory chips in the server that hosts my VPS, because it kept randomly...

Virtual Private Servers - to run EAs

I seem to recall mentioning a while back that 1 and 1 only offer Microsoft WEB edition 2008 server for that £19.99/month fee. I believe Enterprise edition is an extra £10 per month or similar. It's my understanding that the WEB edition of 2008 server is only really suitable for hosting web...

Virtual Private Servers - to run EAs

I had a lot of problems with SWTech initially but I complained to them and to be fair to them they identified the issues with a memory problem and replaced the RAM modules on the server. Since then my VPS has been rock-solid and SWTech also threw in a free month of hosting. So after a rubbish...
