Open positions and bankruptcy of a spread betting broker

Yes a valid question indeed. I am also looking forward to someone who knows the answer to this matter. Highbury fx is someone who is in the business, he probably got the answer to this important matter.

    How do you define scalping

Well if they don't want your business go somewhere else. A time limit on trades is absurd, and have nothing to do with trading. Hopefully more scalper friendly companies will emerge in the realm of market making, this as the overall competition tightens day by day.

    Turned £1k into £16k in 5 months

Yes this is usually the initial story with those who have been around for a long time. The others, they just vansish after being hit hard taking way too much risk.

    Turned £1k into £16k in 5 months

If you have turned £1k ino £16k in 6 month time you have been extremely lucky. No risk money management in place that is for sure. It is of course not sustainable in the long run, despite of what kind of planning, system or strategy you use. If you keep up with up that percentage of risk level...

    How do you define scalping

Well this is the point, today's market is extremely volatile, one have to get out fast at times. My experience though, you have have many short term trades in a short period of time, which will form a certain trading pattern. Mind you, this must be a winning pattern above the average trader, if...

    SB Brokers' honesty

In my point of view the overall honesty of the market makers have decreased, and I see this as a result of the incredibly fierce and growing competition that exist today, not necessary they are at the core dishonest. It is understandable, it is not easy to compete these days, this when a new...

    How do you define scalping

Hi highbury fx, Yes I fully understand your side of the issue. The problem as I see it, many market makers see that traders as one who is taking advantage of lagging quotes, while the trader might trade on the price action and the momentum of the real market. I mean, many SB and CFDs traders are...

    How do you define scalping

Yes I agree, this is the right and correct definition of a scalper. For some reason market makers love to brand momentum traders as someone taking advantage of lagging price quotes.

    How do you define scalping

The problem here is that we have two definitions on the term scalping, in the real world of trading it is fully acceptable and legitimate, however in the world of market makers, for the most part it is considered to be a bad thing, which can result in that they brand you as someone who takes...

    colmex

Sure thing, usually I don't take to much notice of bad reviews before trying on the broker myself in real live trading. But these reports goes beyond the usual "bad review" broker. So one must be careful, I need more reports from elsewhere as well. I notice you both are from Canda, a coincident...

    colmex

Another one poster with an agenda, still, I guess things are getting a little bit uncomfortable for the Colmex representative. No one in their clear state of mind would start trading with them upon reading this until it is cleared up. They need to make some kind of some statement on this thread.
