Yeah my platform only gives 4 decimal places so I am not doing any rounding. Actually there are only 2 consecutive candles with MA moving down, then a pause for one candle and then another down candle. So technically it is no more than 2 "consecutive" candles with MA going down

Strictly following the rules it is a sell trade on my chart, but it does look like a weak signal today

Yeah it does look a bit suspicious or just very unlucky. I am using CMC markets and on the 6:30am candle the low on the bid was 1.4296 and the high on the offer was 1.4330. That was enough to have me done and dusted in a couple of minutes.

My entry was 1.4296, so already entered short and stopped out for a -30 pips today.

Yes also stopped out today unfortunately. I am into mechanical systems so was just following what I think the rules state. I like to try and remove subjectivity so that the results are easily testable. It would be interesting though to look at the results if you only place trades when the MA...

Yes it looks quite flat but my understanding was the MA needed to move by at least 1 pip with no more than 2 consecutive candles moving the other way over the lookback period. This condition was satisfied in my chart this morning.
