    # of new IPO´s this year?

Monthly I think the information is available. However on a yearly basis I don't know of a site or magazine that will give you a yearly summary of the offerings.

    "internet stock"

I concur it refers to the point about the stock market boom then collapse.

    Why do so few succeed?

Quite simply the rules of physics apply to the markets. Mass can neither be created nor destroyed. Meaning that the money in the market is not created but put their by someone, so anytime you gain money someone somewhere is losing money. If you lose you are in the majority as those that win...

    Fitzsimmons Financial management

Always be leary of anything that sounds too good. I go by one simple rule. If somebody can make that much money then why are they offering to help me with my money, shouldn't they just retire investing their own within 5 years, even with just 1k - 10k to start?

    Very Sad News

His family will stay in my prayers all week. Hate to loose one that I have read so many posts from around the forum as I have studied. God bless and Gods speed to him.

    Why do so few succeed?

You couldn't be more correct. The other thing that I am finding is that listening to others is helpful. Listening to others and then fearing the system that you have tried and proven is a bad thing. Many times the experience of others can create a fear in our trading techniques. This simple...

    --- 2% Per Month Compounded Realistic ? ---

Now I am really stoked. I have achieved 30% in 2004 and ~25% in 2005 but thought that my system was wrong. I have been in fear all year that I would take a downturn so have adjusted my agressive system to not as stellar results 16% year to date. But my system is now in my opinion less risky...

    Profit Targets?

I personally prefer a trailing stop set to some % as I do not have the time to day trade as my account isn't large enough yet. This method allows me to set a % loss that I am willing to take on the trade and then it runs until it back down to this level. I do review each stock on a daily...

How to graphically watch stock movements

http://www.Ameritrade.com or whatever they are called currently has some pretty powerful graphing applications if that is what you are looking for in a brokerage firm.

    percentage of capital at risk

Personally I think that depends on where you are on the trading spectrum. If you have enough money to be able to make the difference in your trade cost with a 3% investment that is wonderful. If you are a beginning trader with say 20-30k and are growing that nest egg then it makes no sense...

    Trading Specific PC's

I am an evening trader and do a lot of my analysis at night. My day job takes up my time preventing me from day-trading. That and I really don't have the nerve to lose my insurance and benefits that I currently get from that job. Oh well enough on that. I have been looking at updating my...

    Time frame question

Gotta agree with the last poster. I week trade because I have a full time day job currently. This causes me to miss on alot of profit and to take some losses that if I was trading on a more compressed basis wouldn't occur. I make a decent return on my money but the systems that I use would...

Traders working in a bank, question for you!

My current job is as a Manufacturing Engineering Team Leader. I have to manage all of my positions and put in my stances during the night. It takes me about 2-3 hrs per night of research and planning. I also use Gorilla Trades to try and gain a little advantage and advice and try to narrow...

    Working efficiently as a trader

Absolutely fantastic post. It rings of the statement "Work smarter not harder." Many times when I review mags and other sources of information I find myself studying things that I probably won't invest in, but that I find interesting intellectually. If I count that as time spent researching...

    What comes first...

Don't know but that is an excellent question. My thought on the chart you showed is similar to the previous poster. The initial drop was due to some type of trader knowledge. This small drop was then cascaded when the news picked up the message causing the secondary fall-off of the chart.
