Callum Campbell

Callum Campbell is Managing Director of Airthrey Capital Ltd, a proprietary trading firm based in Scotland which specialises in equity derivatives. Callum started his career in 1984 as a trainee stockbroker working for Wood Mackenzie & Co. based in Edinburgh. He moved to London in 1986 where he worked for a variety of investment banks including UBS, and worked across a variety of areas including private client investment management and corporate finance before choosing to specialise in equity derivatives. He moved to Madrid in 1989 where he was head of international equity derivative sales for a major Spanish financial institution at a time when the Spanish market was experiencing de-regulation and the introduction of exchange traded derivatives for the first time. He was also a member of the advisory committee of the local exchange. He returned to London to work in Institutional Sales for a specialist derivatives boutique which provided broking services to institutions wishing to trade equity derivatives across the European markets.In 1995 Callum left the City to return to his native Scotland. He joined Edinburgh Financial Publishing, a privately owned company which collated and distributed earnings forecast data to major financial institutions across the globe, where he was head of European Sales and Marketing. The company was subsequently sold in 1997 to BARRA, a NASDAQ quoted risk management company based in Berkeley, California.Callum has continued to be an active trader and since 2000 has assisted a number of start-up, high growth companies with their fund-raising and corporate development strategies.
