Agreed, there may not be much or any difference on the prices displayed, it is what price you manage to achieve that matters. I am by nature a quick in and out guy and if your timeframe is longer, all day or swing then SB is probably fine for that as a requote wont matter too much. Regards.

How does inverted yield curve indicate recession?

Banks make money by borrowing cheaply at short term rates then lending for a longer term at a higher rate. When they can't do that due to an inverted yield curve, lending declines which ultimately ends in recession.

    Spreadco spread free trading

I have over the years used CMC, Capital Spreads, ETX Capital and IG Index. Due to the fact that they are a third party, by which I mean, they must get their prices from the actual markets before doing anything else, there is a natural lag. Then when you request a price for a trade they must...

    Spreadco spread free trading

Spreadbet companies are well known thieves who are allowed to get up to all manner of dubious tactics. Why not use a proper broker such as AMP who now allow CME micro contracts. A micro contract is 1/10 of a futures contract so on the DOW $5 would be 0.50 cents per point/tick. Margin is $50 per...

Best brokers for active ISA and SIPP traders

I have a SIPP using IB and find it great especially if you want to trade US stocks or futures or in fact any worldwide exchange. Brit

    Writing futures options uncovered...

Totally agree with taking some or all off the table when over 50% earned. I usually sell next month out and think about covering when it becomes current month or the theta, amount earned per day, is less than can be got from the next contract out. By the way there is a good thread on...

    SIPP Product at Interactive Brokers

For the record I have completed my IB SIPP transfer some months ago using Stadia trustees. Futures trading is fully acceptable and requires 1.5 times the IB quoted margin, so for instance ES is $7500 margin instead of $5000 per contract to hold overnight. Or $3750 margin instead of $2500...

T2W Forex Contest - Nov 2011, Win *another* Kindle Fire!

I understand the Kindle Fire does not have a release date for the UK due to various problems with Cloud, downloading/streaming, privacy etc. So the winners may be in for a long wait.

    SIPPS and CFDs

I assume you mean to take, say, a long position in the SIPP and a opposite short position outside the SIPP. In theory, yes this would drain money out of the SIPP into your account. BUT ONLY IF you get the direction right of course. If the SIPP position 'wins' you would effectively be adding...

    SIPP Product at Interactive Brokers

After watching the IB presentation I am reminded that there is the usual $10/month minimum brokerage fee but that still makes IB extremely good value. At £6 for UK trade it is still the cheapest UK broker I can find. Plus access to the US markets at normal IB prices. It looks like Ultra and...

    SIPP Product at Interactive Brokers

Thanks for the link, I see it is now posted and will view it tonight. I know Mr Perez has stated before on this thread that it is a cash account with no margin. But if you check on the margin page here under Futures... http://www.interactivebrokers.com/en/p.php?f=margin&p=f&ib_entity=uk It...

    SIPP Product at Interactive Brokers

Well, good news. Gerald Perez at IB UK has confirmed that the same commissions apply to a SIPP as to a Standard account. ie If trading 3 ES contracts at $2.01 that would be $6.03 comm. Also the futures margin has been confirmed as 150% of a standard account. Furthermore Stadia have...

    SIPP Product at Interactive Brokers

Excellent point on the UK liquidity issue. I had not got as far as that. I would prefer to use US ETFs anyway so I need to bottom out the cost issues. I am contacting Stadia on this and will post when I know more.
