How many screens do you use to trade with?

I use two 19" CRTS and a 17" LapTop. Seems your need expands each time you add a screen. Before I bought the LapTop, two screens were fine. Now if I don't fire up the portable, it seems I don't have enough real estate or processor power. ;)

    'Dogs of the Dow'

Mias, The Motley Fool has their own version of the Dogs of the Dow you might want to look at. There has been some success with these stocks as they are "undervalued" compared to other stocks on a dividend to price ratio. Another strategy is to buy the stocks that are dropped from the DOW...

    'Dogs of the Dow'

If you're buying Dow stocks, these are the largest U.S. stocks with millions and millions of shares outstanding and very high daily volume. I doubt the Dogs of the Dow buyers/sellers will have much of an impact. Also, there may be market moving news (interest rate cut/raise, etc.) on the day...

    Dueling monitors

Hmmm. Sounds like your salesperson was clueless. Multiple Monitor cards are very common. I have a dual Matrox card in my PC and could have gotten a quad card except I didn't see the need at the time. They're not cheap and can run upwards of $600 for the top of the line. I don't know how...

    Hp5

Hi Helen, Ah, that's why you've been so uncharacteristically quiet this morning. ;) My old home town, Oak Park, Illinois (Birthplace of Ernest Hemmingway and site of Frank Llyod Wright's Home and Studio) turned a street into a replica of a scene from Harry Potter. Children dressed in...

    D4F Commodity Contracts

Hi Oatman, If you use the "ticket" order method, you can choose market as you method of entry. If you use the "data bar" to enter trades, just click on the "limit" gray bar and it will show a pull-down menu with "market" as an option (along with several others such as stop limit, trailing...

    Tullibody's Blog

Hi Tullibody What FTSE Beater was referring to is that Uwe Wagner's article in Traders' Magazine has errors in it. The analysis of Wagner's system is posted by "Dippers" later in the thread. If you saw this, I apologize but thought if you hadn't you may want to read about the problems with...

Hi Helen, Ah, thanks for the clarification. Unfortunately, doesn't help me much as those terms aren't underlined either.

    Females make better traders ?

There's a wonderful new feature on T2W which underlines words like liquidity, volume, bid, and offer so that you can "click" the word and get the definition from the T2W glossary. I propose T2W also underline exclusively British words/phrases and provide a glossary of real English so that we...

    FTSE Beater's Blog

Hi Mark, You set yourself an almost impossible goal it seems. If a professional trader/hedge fund manager can return a consistent 25% annual return to his investors, he will have to fight off the influx of money. Whether it's 500% or 300%. each are fantastic returns that very few of the 5...
