    SB spreads

SPC, My experience (with Deal4free) is that spreads on individual companies change all the time according to volatility. Spreads on major indices are normally fixed or change very infrequently and always with prior notification.

    Spread Betting Companies

I definitely do recommend CMC (D4F). They have the best spreads which is the most important factor of all (currently just 2 points on the FTSE and 5 points on the Dow) and supply an excellent trading platform.

Dow Intraday Charts 16 Aug - 20 Aug

Can anyone recommend the best data feeds and charting packages to use with CM's DOW strategy. I'd like to give it a go but the data and charting supplied by Deal4Free don't seem to be up to the task.

    Ruined

cj12 - How high do you estimate the Dow would rise on short covering alone with no other buying if all shorts were covered? I'm a bit confused by your advice to wait for a 1% decline and then a 50-75% pullback. 50-75% of what?

Index prices if all shorts were covered

Spoon102, Shorts provide support because a proportion of shorters take profit by covering (buying) at every dip. A proportion also cover in panic at every rally. The curent level of shorting is providing massive support to equity markets which will only be able to decline significantly when...

Index prices if all shorts were covered

It seems not! Pity. That value and its ratio with actual price might be useful values to monitor.

Index prices if all shorts were covered

Can anyone tell me how to find out or calculate or estimate what the price of each major index would be if all accounts were settled, i.e. if all shorts were covered?
