    Not to my knowledge.

    Quick Question

You are telling the dealer (well, system) that you want to sell, but not until the price has fallen to 83. In a fast moving market, you colud be filled at 82/81, or the instrument could open at 70 - that will be the price you are filled at. THis is ordinary orders, not guaranteed.

    Quick Question

If the price is currently at 85 and you put in a sell order at 83, then your order will be filled at 83 or lower. If you put in a sell at 90, your order will be filled at 90 or higher.

Stick to an entry/exit plan, and keep the risk low so you can take 10 hits in a row without seriously denting your account.

Finspreads no longer doing market orders on line - alternatives ?

Hadn't noticed that. Seems strange to remove a feature from a platform.

    Sharescope

It was suggested early in the thread as a way of using 1 licence of SS on multiple machines. Good idea, thanks.

Can anyone confirm whether the USB key installation still works? This is an attractive option for me.

    A Mug's Game???

Cheers for the reply. I guess with this kind of size of stop, I'd feel the chances of me getting stopped out would be extremely high. If I have an opinion (or am just trend following), I'd rather take the risk of losing £300, or 20% of my capital, and be able to ignore these fluctuations...

    A Mug's Game???

I basically agree with what you are saying, but I'm not sure I understand your caluclation there... 0.5 * 30 is 15, and I don't see how points are relevant to the % capital, points are arbitary measures. Can you give me an example trade size (ie £ per point, stop loss and total capital). Cheers!

    A Mug's Game???

I know this is accpeted wisdom (actually Dr Elders suggestion is 2%), but this level is totally impractical. Example: a stop loss of 500 points when betting on the direction of an index (I'm currently thinking of shorting the FTSE, and would consider this my 'You made the wrong move, dude'...
