switch from forex

I am looking to start my missus trading stocks full time with a reasonably healthy budget while I stick to my Forex. Mainly UK ftse and maybe some US stocks. Probably Not SB or CFD as prefer to build a portfolio. Anyone have any pointers for real time info and brokers. Currently with e trade and looking at ADVN Gold.( seems a reasonable price)
Also seriously considering IB if I can suss their platform .

May I ask a personal question? What happens if Mrs. tommac is a whole heap better at trading than you - have you considered how that might affect your relationship? When you're coaching her about risk management, this might be something worth exploring now - before she starts - rather than after the event!

In answer to your question, I'd say it rather depends on whether or not she'll be day trading. If so, trading equities is a tough gig with anything other than DMA - especially U.S. equities.

Timsk---Ha--Mrs Tommac is definitely heaps better than me---after 20 mumble years I think we`ve got it sorted.
Some day trading, though we tend to hold over a few days . Just been playing on IB demo--complicated but seems great. UK costs (£11.50 a side plus SD-but comes down considerably for more trades ) are a big factor in thinking about US stocks.
