As spread betting services act like conventional bookmakers, will they also revert to closing an account because a client makes too much money? My understanding is that a client does not buy/sell shares but is betting against the service provider and therefore the service's capital.

So has any successful s.better seen their account limited eg larger spreads, limits on the £/point or even closed altogether ??

Thanks

SBs can offset a clients position in the market much the same as a bookmaker will lay ( I think thats the term) a large bet or a bet from a punter have a run of luck.

Most successful traders will go direct market fairly quickly but may still use SBs for longer term trades where the margin is less for holding overnight

sorry I meant direct market via a broker Interactive, mann, etrade etc
