Hi there,
I want to become a high frequency trader, currently working at a bank doing boring analysis (not related to trading), earning decent money. I have no experience in trading.
I have a PhD degree in computer science from a good uni in Sydney.
I want a career change, but reluctant to accept a big pay cut. I also need stable income to pay my mortgage.
I am good at C++, Java and Object Oriented Programming, machine learning, data mining. Currently, I am reading books related to statistic arbitrage, algorithmic trading and high frequency trading.
Not sure what to do next, should I do more study, e.g. Master Degree by course work in Quantitative Finance, or doing trader training at propex.net.au or quit my current job and working for a prop shop (e.g. Optiver)
Any comments, feedbacks or suggestion would be very much appreciated.
