AMEC Sees Strong Demand, FY08 Margin Over 6.5%

Engineering company AMEC PLC (AMEC.LN) Wednesday said it expects to deliver a margin in excess of 6.5% in 2008 as it continues to see strong demand for its engineering services.

"We continue to see a strong and diverse range of attractive prospective contracts across the business," Chief Executive Samir Brikho said in a statement.

Despite the volatility in the financial, raw materials and currency markets, the total order book has been only minimally hit by contract deferrals or cancellations, AMEC added.

Given the strong trading and the margin progression, AMEC looks well placed to ride the current market downturn.

Seems to sort of track the oil price

my prediction, trade in the direction it's going and ge out when it pulls back.

Too much chopping about to look long term IMO
