Trading the financial markets is among the most challenging of human endeavors.  At its best, trading is a celebration of the human mind's capacity to master complexity.  Rarely does any single activity so reward individual initiative and the exercise of the reasoning mind.  And yet, financial rewards are only part of the allure of trading.  In mastering the markets, we are called upon to exercise extraordinary self-mastery.  Like any noble undertaking, such as art, science, or athletics, trading is a means of self-development, fostering the ability to act intentionally, in the service of one's training and ideals.

My website is designed as a resource for those who choose the path of self-development through trading.  There you will find tools for the trader and the trading, from articles on market psychology to hands-on trading techniques documented in the Trading Psychology Weblog.  If you are a short-term trader of the stock index markets, I believe you'll find unique perspectives here, free of hype and commercial solicitation.  Thanks for visiting, and may you profit in all your life's undertakings!

Useful

I liked his site last time I visited it. It seems a bit dated now, but there is some useful information there for sure.

Great Archive

While Brett doesn't maintain his blog anymore, the archives are worth the visit. For those thinking of trading (or already trading) this is one of the few resources where the mental game of trading is addressed.

Faultless.

To me he is the foremost expert in Psychological aspects of Trading.

He has a wealth of articles containing information on being a better trader by studying yourself. Know yourself, know your system. Take keeping a trade journal. He has articles about the importance as well as how to set them up and metrics to use. He goes into what language inside helps, which hurts.

Great stuff. I have a collection of his writings called the Best of Brett Steenbarger, I recommend other people at least give him a perusal.
