Marketing techniques for a trading system

Assuming there are other trading system vendors on this site, this is the correct place to ask this question. Why would you try to get rid of someone who is trying to make a business out of a legitimate, value-adding service for you? Understandably, this industry is marked with more fraudulent...

Marketing techniques for a trading system

I know you're out there, all you entrepreneurial system creators. :D Surely someone here has had success creating a system and making it marketable. It takes one line of thinking to dive into technical details and create a system. Another to make a convincing story for investors looking for...

Marketing techniques for a trading system

Does anybody have any suggestions for marketing a trading system? Trading system platform sites come to mind first. Outside of these platforms, what other marketing techniques have you commercial system vendors found that worked and generated leads for subscribers?

I agree with Blades. Chorlton, you created this thread in January, meaning you've been working on this system for over six months. At some point, you have to stop tweaking, fix the parameters, and begin trading with current values. Building a history on a blog, as you mentioned, will not be...

If it as all possible to replicate those returns in the future, I for one could be your first customer. 25% YOY is hard to beat. Does that assume $0 commissions? I've seen some systems that need 75% annual returns to make up for all the trading commission losses just to beat the S&P500. If...

OK that all makes sense. Your backtest results looked good and I was curious about your results since your last post in March but if you are still working on the system, there won't be any results yet. Long term, if your #'s produce the results from above, there are many people who would pay...

Chorlton, a couple of quick comments and follow up questions. It's been a while since you posted but perhaps you are still following this forum. First, the simulation software you are using is reporting these #'s? Probability of Profit: 100.00% Probability of Loss: 0.00% They results do...

    missing yahoo historic prices

Wow, that's really weird. I use Yahoo to pull all my quotes and have never seen that. Yahoo has a tutorial on how they calculate adjusted close. Historical Quotes - Finance If you had to replicate all that logic, it might be a pain in the **** but it would definitely be possible. Actually, I...

    execution software

Tons of brokers (e.g. Think or Swim, optionxpress, etc) offer automated trading of their more popular systems. If you have a system of your own, you're better off tracking in collective2 and having collective2 submit the quotes to a brokerage. Good luck.

    Visual Basic

IMO, the tricky part in VB isn't doing the finance math. The tricky part is importing the quotes from a historical database. I've had success with Yahoo Finance. They allow you to import 20 years of data in .csv files for backtesting. It requires a lot of VB code to make it work smoothly...
