Are these forums essentially just the blind leading the blind?

He hasn't said anything that upsets me. He just won't answer the question. Someone also messaged me several days ago with a similar problem - he's repeatedly asked people on here how much they make, but they won't answer. And there's only one reason for that of course - they lose money. I have...

Are these forums essentially just the blind leading the blind?

I've made $0 profit from trading. Not lost anything, not gained anything. I'm more than happy to tell people how much I've made trading. Which I just did. Dude, I think it's pretty obvious at this point that you're a losing trader. If you won't tell me how much you've made. When people have lost...

The stock market always goes up, over many years. I have a question about that.

So where's your help then? You haven't given any. It's just been a load of sarcastic, condescending nonsense. Anyway, I've reported you for spamming and posting off-topic nonsense. Also reported you for your signature, which is far too large (maybe there's a rule on that, I don't know)...

The stock market always goes up, over many years. I have a question about that.

Maybe. I just found it annoying after a few posts. I could tell he was a bitter, angry, condescending a*sehole from his first reply in this thread, although I responded politely. I have no time for idiots like him. You're right. I have replaced his quotes with a "." instead. People like...

Interesting. Did he fail? I'm guessing he did.

The stock market always goes up, over many years. I have a question about that.

So you think I will be a victim of confirmation bias? You're right, I could well be. But I will try my best not to be. Anyway, how old are you by the way? I'm guessing at least in your 30's, if not older than that. Your posts are extremely immature. Take your bitterness and condescending...

The stock market always goes up, over many years. I have a question about that.

Yes I still do believe in that. Which is why I'm going to do extensive research to determine whether what some posters in here say is correct, or whether they're chatting a load of rubbish. By the way, if that image was a backhanded compliment of my intelligence, then thank you. I...

The stock market always goes up, over many years. I have a question about that.

Thanks for taking the time to give a detailed reply. :) I can't respond properly to this, because I don't have enough knowledge on stocks. :p I will do research to confirm whether what you say is true or not. Thanks for the serious answer. :) Again, I will do my research.

The stock market always goes up, over many years. I have a question about that.

Ok. You're speaking in a bunch of riddles, but I mostly understand what you're saying. Like I say, I will do the research myself and come to my own conclusions. If I am in any reasonable doubt, I will not risk any money. You're right, I'm not expecting anyone to reveal any big money-making...

The stock market always goes up, over many years. I have a question about that.

Yes very true, nothing is certain and I wouldn't want to put a large amount of money in and lose it. :o I think I will do some more research on this.

The stock market always goes up, over many years. I have a question about that.

Ok, that is the catch I was looking for. Thanks for explaining it clearly. :) That's true, you could just place a spread bet on the FTSE 100 index to increase over a 30 year period. Now there must be a catch to that also.

The stock market always goes up, over many years. I have a question about that.

Yes that's true, I'm sure most people want to make a quick profit, rather than wait years for one. It can go up and down, sure. There's plenty of volatility in the short term. But I'm talking over many years.

The stock market always goes up, over many years. I have a question about that.

Well if that's the case, why isn't everyone doing this? You can make easy profits with virtually no risk. The only downside is you have to wait a long, long time before you can take the profits. There must be a catch to all this.

The stock market always goes up, over many years. I have a question about that.

If you look at any of the major stock markets - FTSE 100, FTSE 250, NASDAQ, Dow Jones etc. - they always go up over a period of many years. There are some years it goes down, for example the financial crash between 2007 and 2009. But if you take a long enough time frame, it always goes up...

Why do 95- 98% of retail traders fail

Interesting statistics. So the 0.5%, is that the proportion of accounts that are in profit? How is the 99.5% calculated?
