    The Truth About The Market

Your post says much and must say I agree with it. It took me a while to actually believe this was happening. I was like why would a measly 1000 shrs matter enough? But it did. Then I saw this post by someone who was a heavy in the Canadian Brokerage industry This is a post from Bill Cara's blog...

Well I do understand your position too. Again my main point at the beginning was that IB/TimberHill are on the same team and although I always understood it in equities and option markets; I was actually at first confused about IDEALPRO's Forex mrkt. I appreciate that you've clarified this and...

OK I'm in no position to know how IB or Timber Hill utilizes it's customers data and if that plays any role in how IB LLC makes it's money or not. Unless you want to hand me your computer code and all your market data i cannot prove anything. Since IB LLC owns Timber Hill then isn't Timber Hill...

Def, If I've read right , Timber Hill has first shot to match any client order that comes through as long as it's at the client's price or better. So Timber Hill can step in front of any order from an IB client. How it can do this without some knowledge of the clients order is puzzling to me to...

IB/Timber Hill Yes I've read that disclosure and it doesn't specifically state anything about IB IDEALPRO but to your credit, you have been very forthcoming about Timber Hill's participation. My whole point is that although IB posters can say IB doesn't trade in its IDEALPRO FX and...

The difference is well noted. How Timber Hill is owned by IB LLC and the extent of it's independence is unknowable to customers, as there is no real way to verify it. Just state the relationship so people won't walk away with an incomplete impression of your operation.

IB Llc -Timber Hill should always be disclosed. Yes but the market maker Timber Hill which is owned by IB does trade IB's IDEALPRO FX market. I do think for the sake of full disclosure, posters from IB should always include this. Without including this you give the impression that IB has no...

Yes I use IB's TWS so I know IB has audit trails. When I stated "If IB doesn't have an audit trail" I was responding to Traders post where he said IB told him there was no audit trail of the specific trade he attempted. So my statement was made only in context to his specific trade not about IB...

Trader: If IB has no audit trail then there really is nothing you can do, except grin and bear it. That said ; it is very troubling if you hit "T" and then got "C" that IB doesn't have the audit trail. Perhaps you should ask why (no audit trail) and how this might be possible on their system. I...

I had this happen to me once and was suspicious. In my case it didn't transmit so it never hit their server, but I noted the time. I had to just reenter a new trade and yes it moved against me slightly. Tech services told me that there was a disconnection in the network at the very second I...

Trader: What futures were you trading? Usually this should be instantaneous on globex if you're selling at the bid (or buying at the ask) and your computer is connected to IB's server. I think if you're close to either the bid or ask but not on it then when you click " T " then the market...

    Interactive brokers

Re: IB margin Although IB's commissions are hard to beat . You should understand a little discussed aspect of IB's trading cost when you're comparing brokers. Interactive Broker's will not pay credit interest on the first $10,000 of your account's cash balance. So i.e., at 4% interest that's...

Bull: As a sidebar to your quote above {there are brokers that will NOT interfere with trades! }: Does/can your broker take the other side of your trades? Is this something that you look for when you're chosing a broker? Thanks for your thoughts, urep
