Yes I agree that s where I spend all my time....Allocation.... scale in and out etc.....By the way I risk alot less than 1% per trade. and to me money mangement and position sizing.. are the 2 ingredients which makes the difference. not the fancy entries or exit.. etc....

Have you tried to add some markets in order to diversify. have you tried your system only long or short... that could help as well.

You would be surprise how system by themselves are simple.... In order to be robust and make money on a long period they need to be simple. Where it gets complicated its on the money allocation and the positin size.

I have seen alot of interbank fx dealer practicing scalping.. and the only ones who used to make money are the ones who could mixed it up with customer flows.. otherwise they kept loosing money.. making few pips here and there all day long until... a sharp move and everything was gone...

what do you mean by choosing a trading system.....Are you talking about buying one on the shelf.. or subscribe to a chart system and develop your own system?

Do your home work and some research.... forget about buying that kind of software.. it aint working.... Why would you sell a system who makes money....I would tend to keep it for myself and run it. It is very easy to build system with a nice equity curve... you just have to optimise it.. but...

I understadn that StraOpt.. keep writing codes... Thats what he likes and started with. THat also give him the opportunity to talk to other people and to get new ideas to develop new strategies. You need to be creative in this job.. One way is to keep talking to people to share ideas.

I agree. Countertrend are very difficult to develop and most of the time as soon as you add any S/L to it to preserve your capital... the return is affected. I do have one which I run with my two other trend following.. It helps to smooth the drawdown and I run it without any S/L. It stays in...
