Not generous - the sum paid out is "correct" with both methods. Counting level for the higher price fits well with financial option markets where the Call Option ends in-the-money, and the Put out-of-the-money. The issue is actually close to irrelevant apart from hedging considerations...

Whatever, the "marketing genius" is visible in both the naming and the product idea: Old school ist to cut your losses and let profits run. Bert

Well how far ist the way from theory to practice. Such firms knowing all the orders, prices and limits of their customers... It would not need a rocket scientist to figure out some nice oscillations. If I was a cynic I'd suspect that it was just a leak: the real product name is "Stop profits"...

Hey Taylor, On pt 1: I halfway can agree, bit of mulling is left. Your explanation sounds good, in consideration of the fast odds move in that band. Trying to come with grips with it... It could either mean (a) that you have a certain leverage goal rather than a stochastic goal or (b) that the...

Hey Jules, you dropped the "small stakes" several times. What would you consider a decent stake? Thanks, Bert

    Bot Kit for Binaries?

A new, more professional peer-to-peer platform. Why, would that impact the bot (assuming there is an API standard)? If so, let's PM. Bert

    IG Binary Revenues Up

Well if we assume that I can a fair price for the hedge, in consideration of stochastics ... but spreads in binaries are notoriously wide so I'd probably always prefer to wait it out ... Bert

Geoff, I'd challenge the first on the list (and let's see about some others): Why would you need a stop loss for a binary? Binaries run very short periods and saving one trip (half round) by playing the stochastics I can preserve capital. So: Drop or keep stop-loss? Bert

    Bot Kit for Binaries?

I was wandering if any of you can recommend a (modifyable) trading program specifically for binaries. I am sick and tired of spreadsheeting. At a minimum, I'd like to make a market in certain instruments with an adjustable spread, orders should be fired automatically, of course. The Bot should...

Guess you are right, sorry. Just didn't click. Also agree that the argument about Stop-Loss should be valid anyway. However Jules in some other thread just wrote sthg about setting stop-losses even in a binary market (?) ... appears at odds with the conclusions from our thread. Let's see why...

    IG Binary Revenues Up

Any market making greatly appreciated *g*. Best luck with it. On the stop-loss you lost me. Why would there be a problem? With CFDs or spreadbets, ok. But BF is binary intraday or in the hour and risk is limited with the stake anyway... (Unless I was not aware of sthg then I might be the first...

:frown: Well, that was important information which should have been given in the original post ... so I take back what I said and concluded. Unless somebody can report a real example of the same stop-loss move by a CFD-firm, of course. Bert

    IG Binary Revenues Up

Jules, don't understand the argument: if there is not even 1 permanent MM now (and from what u say they disappeared over time ... while BF grew...) wouldn't this prove the opposite - there is no real demand for BF financials? :?: Or did u mean yourself, planning to MM there? Bert

    Binary Betting Personal Rankings

This is a very comprehensive answer, Steve, with lots of meat for further thought. Now, we both know that the gamma of a binary is a devil in that +0.1 pt situation, so hedging via futures (or the underlying for that matter) with a vastly different gamma is just plain nonsense. Let's take that...
