Do I need to have a broker to use NinjaTrader?

I'm checking out Zen-Fire at the moment. It provides only futures, but it's a free trial so I can test out some stuff at least without paying any fees for data.

Do I need to have a broker to use NinjaTrader?

You're absolutely right! And thanks for the advice. I currently trade just the FTSE but my trading decisions come from an analysis of both FTSE and S&P prices and volume on M5 charts. I'm hoping I can improve if I have trade volume (instead of just tick volume) and can also see what's...

Do I need to have a broker to use NinjaTrader?

I opened a chat with an eSignal rep. After some high pressure sales trying to get me to sign up, I managed to get a breakdown of costs: $132 esignal data access (and that's with me using NinjaTrader, otherwise it's more) $53 fx $32 cme mini $5 s&p cash $12 ftse cash = total $234 per month...

Do I need to have a broker to use NinjaTrader?

PS: All I'm looking for is real time price and volume on S&P (emini), FTSE and top currency pairs (as I'm looking for contract volume rather than tick volume, I need the currency pair futures).

Do I need to have a broker to use NinjaTrader?

eSignal starts from $39.95, but that's not real time, it has a 15 minute delay. Their next option is $137 pm, but that doesn't include exchange fees. So I'm thinking that this $137 compares with Kintetick's $50 with both options adding exchange fees on top. Am I missing something? Once i get...

Do I need to have a broker to use NinjaTrader?

That's right. There are various add-ons and I have to take several to get what I want (https://www.kinetick.com/purchase) :( so the real price for me is working out to over $200 per month. There is the option of getting it a bit cheaper if you use one of their recommended brokers but I want to...

Do I need to have a broker to use NinjaTrader?

OK, thanks. I'll go get me a copy of NT and sign up to Kinetick. :)

Do I need to have a broker to use NinjaTrader?

Thanks malaguti. The free version of Kinetick is, as you say, EOD. For $50 a month (+ exchange fees) you can get real time as well. So NT has a built in feed? Where does that data come from? eSignal, Zen-Fire, iQ ... or somewhere else?

Do I need to have a broker to use NinjaTrader?

I haven't used NinjaTrader before and I'm looking to try it out. I intend to use a Kinetick data feed. There are some things I want to investigate involving volume (on FX futures and S&P). I don't need any backtesting, I just want to make some observations in real time on the NT charts using...

    What is TLE and IA?

I see terms like TLE and IA mentioned in relation to EAs and indicators, but I've no idea what they mean. The official MT4 user guide doesn't explain them. Is there any location with all the abbreviations and acronyms MT4 users need to know?

When trading CFD's how do you work out profit/loss?

In your case it's (5880-5879)x Your Stake which is probably in GBP. So if you trade was for £5, your profit would be (5880-5879)x5. If your stake was in points, you need to check with your broker as Joules says above. With my broker (IGM) one point is one GBP.

    IG Index

Shakone, I was just editing a post I made a few seconds ago when you replied. Anyway, yes, I can see your point and accept that time differences could account for the bar differing from one broker to the next. However, for the IG chart's second bar to be red it should have opened at the high...

    New Desktop

I used to keep track of chips, MIPS, increasing number of cores, platforms, L1 and L2 cache and cache speeds etc etc. I've given up. For most purposes, including trading, the exact CPU is not really relevant any more. Video editing might make heavy demands on CPUs (though more so on data...

    IG Index

Only my second post here, I'm new to trading . I've been trying out a few brokers, taking MT4 for a spin and doing other research (and some testing on demo accounts). Hoping this is the best thread in which to ask an IG related question. I attach an image taken from my IG Index USD/CAN D1...
