    Is GE getting too big?

So, it seems that GE has completed another merger, Vivendi Universal Entertainment and NBC, forming "NBC Universal". Does anyone think there is nothing stopping GE from taking over the world?

    Brokers' fees/commission charges

Not really sure where to post this thread; could go in many topics I 'spose. Here, I would like you guys to post your brokers and what their fees are (commission/annual fee/etc), and some brokers you know of. Thanks :)

    Web Site Building

This guy is a novice; Macromedia software is for uber elite developers. I suggest you get a book about HTML. If you need some javascript enhancements to your site, this site has lots of scripts to help make your site look more stylish/high-tech. :)

Thanks for that; there was an update CD for US-only released last week. Glad to see a UK one now, too, with free delivery (unlike US citizens :D)

    FTSE points system - how?

Hi, thanks for spending the time on an excellent and good information post. :) So it's not total shares in existance that market value is worked out at? So there is two values a company is valued at? The Market value (share price * number of shares on market), and the actual company value...

    Carphone Warehouse..

Sliding downwards probably because Q1 for most retail sectors is worse than Q4, so there's probably profit-taking going on. Good thing about CW is that people are always buying mobile phones and other gadgets for that area.

    Vodafone - Abort, Retry, Fail?

Vodafone was in a dilemma over the AT&T Wireless fiasco. For starters, it already has a 45% stake in the US' no.1 wireless operator; it would have to sell that if it was to hold AT&T Wireless, a falling group. However, if it was successful in getting a decent price for the group, it could merge...

    Non-dividend paying companies

Yes, should've checked. Sure I saw Reuters showing nil payment... Loss for the financial period of £4.3 billion, after goodwill amortisation of £7.7 billion. Dividend per share increased by 20% to 0.9535p. :D

    Non-dividend paying companies

I believe Vodafone doesn't pay dividends. That's a start. Companies that don't pay dividends are companies that don't make money (generally, but some do (Abbey National pays dividends, but is losing money).
