Bit of a beginner, made a shedload on gold and silver a couple of years ago when gold went from $850 to $1000. Spreadbetted my way to glory, didn't fully understand what I was doing but I managed to multiply my stake by 28 times.
It was like constantly winning on roulette by betting on black and doubling up my stake. **** myself when it got over a $1000 and the amount of money I had in my account, I sold everything within a couple of dollars of the high. I was rich, RICH! I tell thee. Gold started dropping soon after that, I thought I knew what I was doing and started betting again. Within a month i'd managed to hand back about 2/3 of my winnings. I finally cut and run at that point. I've dabbled on and off since then. Managed to multiply a stake by 20 times later in the year, again just betting on black and doubling up, promptly lost it all a week later. I've stayed out since then. Although looking back maybe i have a knack for picking out massive swing trades.

I am now trying to teach myself the basics, discipline and get a plan and so starts (properly) my trading journey.
