    Beat the Speed Cameras

Interesting thread. I have had 2 speeding tickets in 34 years of driving. The first was for doing 38 in a 30 limit on an open road. The police just pulled everyone over - that was the speed the traffic was moving at. I was driving a 1958 Austin A35 at the time and never lived down the fact...

VIX Index or some thing like it for european equities??

I think it would depend on which time frame you're trading in as I suspect that this is a simple VIX of the asociated index future rather than based on a basket of stocks which is the basis for the S&P VIX and VXO in the US.

    Permanent email addresses

Thanks for your help guys. I tried the free trial of pobox.com but it was very slow. typically 5 - 10 mins to deliiver an email, and up to 20 mins if there was a 1MB attachement. So risked my $20 for a 12 month sub and opened a fastmail account. Seems virtually instantaneous and easy to...

    Permanent email addresses

I've just kicked ntl into touch and have paid up until today. Unfortunately, ntl, in an effort to really **** me off (successful!) cut me off on 30th March and deleted all email in my account. I have other accounts, but I think it's now time to have a permanent email address that is...

    Options on Commodities

Hi Gareth - welcome to the options forum. I've not looked at options directly on a single commodity, but been looking at options on some of the ETFs and SPDRs on the NYSE. There are plenty of these that deal with commodities, such as the XLE which is made up of shares in the energy sector...

    Delta Neutral Trading

OK. Interesting. The payoff diagrams for all 3 positions are shown. 1 in red, 2 in Green and 3 in Blue.. What do they all have in common? Well, all bring in £900 in premium, before dealing costs etc. According to London SPAN, strategy 1 requires margin of £3125, strategy 2 requires £3800...
