i went long on Petrofac in November last year, and once the spreadbet contract expired made £1500, but i stupidly went long a few weeks ago as saw at least 100 points of recovery due, but due to Europe woes the markets tanked, wiping a cool £1000 off my previous PFC profit when i was stopped...

justy i dont use CFDs but do use spreadbets whichg weork in the same way essentially as CFDs, i believe. Didnt really answer my question though ;) ... do you or anyone else have suggesstion that dont include the "trading edge"? as i guess a layperson reading my CV wouldn't see the relevence...

can someone answer my question

.. is it just US traders buying/selling UK shares? so if general US sentiment is bearish then they will sell their UK shares and vice versa for a bullish sentiment

ok so a SB trade wont impct the market then the market impacts the SB trade or am i reading this all wrong? - when i say SP movement i mean the equity SP not the SB share price

ok so in a nutshell SB does not affect the SP movement,

im a uni student but have traded several times when im not studying once i graduate i would like to work for a hedge fund, stockbroker or investment bank but more of a analyst rather than trading

cheers Lee, forgot to say that it was an AIM stock which is quite illiquid

or is it purely shares that move the share price as when i called IG Index to place a spreadbet on a FTSE 250 company they had to phone the market maker' to get a price and to put the trade through so thought if even spread betting companies go through the market maker all spread betting...
