With NASDAQ being an electronic market place, I don't see how anyone would be at a disadvantage traing from his/her desk. However, supposedly HFT algo's can analyze order book and front run and microscalp... Supposedly they get their feed msecs sooner than retailers...Not sure if there is any...

I didn't like IB GUI as well at first (it's intimidating) but after I got used to it it's easy. Took about 2 months of trading. I did eventually leave because I liked Tradestation charts, but am thinking about going back. razor

Mr. IB, I have heard that there were some recent changes to the IB Charts/data feed that were of benefit to active traders. I don't know if they were a genearl release or a beta but at least one person relayed to me that the changes were good enough to get him to abandon the Esignal chart/feed...

TradeStation has great charts, but it is not true that you can trade Equities, Futures and Forex from the same account. It will require three separate accounts. That means you have to divy up your funds appropriately.
