Hi Dommo... I think the discussion gets diverted when it goes down the road of golden ratios and nature etc
Perhaps the reasons why S/R can work are also applicable to Fibs .......traders drawn to trade at round numbers is not all that different to traders drawn to trade at a 38% or 50%...
The thread has been diverted a bit with all the GR / nature stuff....that said traders / people do use ratios such as 30% and 50% almost intuitively when looking at trend retracements etc......
Thats not really the point though...the point is whether do they work in trading....or more precisely...
Would the anti fibs posters also say that Support / Resistance is nonsense ? The idea that price could react very precisly at a horizontal line on a chart? But how could that possibly occur, whats the scientific explanation, wheres the proof ......
As I said Split I don't use them myself, but I understand how they can be used...
Without looking at the detail of how he uses them, Bedsit seems to use them OK ...
Theres a bit of difference between whether they can provide an edge or not or whether they are something magical, in...
Trading is not computer programming....
Where are you getting "people end up covering 30-40% of the space" - this is just made up by you....one poster may allow some flexibility with some of the levels, and that is perfectly fine - he finds using them in this way to be effective and profitable...
Well, what more can I say....its all just nonsense....that extra 0.2% over the ratios that that you use, and said could be used in trading, and consider to be rules of thumbs for some reason (?), makes fib levels just nonsense.....just throw out all the profitable traders who use fibs...
Who's the someone else, in current form ? (don't want to go through everything looking for the pink) but I geddit...
Don't forget the new double jive talkin pimpin' ,' mo' fo homie.... sh111111t......
