Are they not required to comply with the rules for their EU clients? I'm in the EU.

The ESMA rules that come into effect from Aug 1st this year will reduce the leverage for stocks to 1:5 if I am not wrong. I wouldn't touch stock trading with leverage 1:300 even if it was available.
