I have a Pointon York Sipp wrapper and i traded futures via Berkley Futures (UK) or TP Futures (US) no problem. Easy & very quick to set up and used Ninja to chart and manage trades from broker feed. All the usual overnight margins apply so must be big enough to cover this.

IB offer 40:1 not 4:1 on forex. thats all you need really. maxed out leverage is a bit of a myth actually. if you are risking 1% of a $10k account on 1 full lot per trade with a 10 pip stop & have 3 trades on at the same time your margin requirement will be $7.5k, which is an acceptable risk...

Do you need Trading Experience to be a broker? You just have to be good at ripping people off surely.

I wouldn't bother personally. Just get a (cheaper) good book on the instrument you intend to trade. Its bascially just a single position trade strategy that they illustrate, no good for intraday or swing trading. The simulator is poor with limited instruments and only x2 indicators. The Q&A...

i think they got burnt by a few too many Sipp large clients. basically, with the Sipp structure the cash is in trust & they give credit, but cant access the cash if things go against them, unlike a regular broker arrangement. obviously on margin they are taking on a risk which they cant recover...

hi does anyone know how to place (manual) trades in TStation that can be sent to IB? Is there a custom API out there? I could use Ninja but its more monthly software fees and another data (IB) feed slowing my connection. cheers
