    Capturing a data stream

Thanks to both of you. Svengali, wget did not seem to recognise this as a 'virtual' file that is created by you using the URL to retrieve data. But its useful anyhow for other applications. Many thanks X-ray, this worked quite well. Now for the automation which I should be able to do...

    Capturing a data stream

Does anyone know of a way, using HTML and Javascript only, to capture a data stream and save it to a file. From this URL you get a lovely CSV ascii data string (IE only). How can this be saved to a file? uk.fintest.yahoo.com/d/quotes.txt?s=aal&m=L&f=snd1t1b2b3c1ghov Looking forward to some...

TBS - TA in a Nutshell

TA in a nutshell course I really should get my act together and look out for these latest posts. I missed the opportunity to comment sooner :!: Like Soldier I also attended TBS course. I came away having gained something different to Soldier but , for me, just as important. I had a decent...

    ISDN and ISPs help please

Fltbear I use Tesco.net for £12.99 / month unrestricted. You do get cut off after 2 hours though. BTW, on my ISDN connection I use software compression and always get connection speeds of 115 200 bps. In real terms this is considerably faster than 64K but obviously not as fast as 128K...

    Competition Rule Changes

Andy Are you saying Gary Player was all luck and no skill :?: I am retiring hurt, this is a fellow countryman of mine :cheesy: But just before I sign off I have a thought or two on the change rules discussion. The only change I think useful is the 20 minute delay, and even this I have...

Are the markets Male or Female

Definitely female, then again ... Its definitely female, if you read one of Skims post at: http://www.trade2win.co.uk/boards/showthread.php?s=&threadid=5232 Then again, that thread does seem to mention several degrees of madness by several users :!: :!: :!: . So maybe it is not male or...

    20 minute delay

Chartman I'm not qualified to do this BUT, bless you my son, bless you :cheesy: This explains much, especially how some people manage to trade a tight range a make a good profit. Now all I have to do is wait for the gornisht competition to be fixed. Cheers

Best Thread The Basics of Trading

Hi FB Thanks for the comments. After retiring hurt :cheesy: I am now back to ask some questions. Could you tell me, briefly, about triangles and gaps. What they are? How to spot them? How to use them? Many thanks My take on the above chart is this: A double (possibly triple) bottom...

    20 minute delay

Sharky Maybe I'm thick or something, but how does the 20 minute price delay actually work when you are making a trade? You receive a quote from T2W, twenty minutes later the trade is executed, but at a different price (lottery style :cheesy: ). Wouldn't it be more realistic if the price...

    FTSE 100 list

Thank you all for the responses. Winners were FC and Zambuck, this yielded a downloadable spreadsheet with EPICs and names (plus the rest of the data :) ). TBS and GreySurfer thanks but no EPIC, just a list of company names. BTW, TBS please check your PM Cheers

    FTSE 100 list

I'm sure I have seen someone point to a list of FTSE 100 companies before. Can't for the life of me find this again :cheesy: Can anyone tell me where I can get said list with EPICs as I want to download this :?: Reason I need this is to programmatically trawl through all the charts...

Best Thread The Basics of Trading

Hi TBS Thanks for the very useful reply  . Probably one to print out and rehearse a few times. As it turns out I don't seem to spend too much time staring at a chart and very rarely actually draw lines. Perhaps this isn't the greatest idea but time pressures recently ... I find I can...

Hi FB Here is my analysis on the charts you suggested BAY Enter long at 118.5 stop 117.2 limit 122 R/R 2.69 AV. Enter long at 392 stop 387 limit 415 R/R 4.6 MRW FWIW, but I would steer clear of this one myself Enter long at 191 stop 184 limit 200...
