Hi everyone, I'm a n00b who has been trading on the US markets for a few months. It seems like almost every week, there is some news that sends the market plummeting or skyrocketing, and I was wondering- is it usually like this?

I'm getting somewhere slowly but surely. I started out with $6K, and I've increased it to $9K since June 1 last summer.
