    Market Profile - Daily updates

Do you look at the composite profiles and trade the larger developing value areas? The weak high and daily wedge with a strong excess low look like we have higher to probe - however a push higher will be into the larger time frame range high. Could see this setting up for a break of the inside...

    Futex - company's financial situation

A grad starts out on a 50/50 split, when a trader hits 90/10 they would typically have 1mln+ on account and are essentially self backed. These are the guys with 100's of contracts. The top 25% of traders have the most money and most size. Consider how this skews the math. M

Why does FTSE often move 10-15 points at market close?

Good observation - Its basically market on close orders (MOC's) that have to be filled before the daily settlement price at 4:30pm. Often these are orders from funds and institutions. If you are trading the FTSE futures then you will often see large orders being put through the market...

    Futex (again!)

Futex allow a weekly draw for profitable traders. OSTC will get you trading live very quickly. If profitable you have to wait til the end of year before you can draw your bonus. They are 2 very different firms, I would recommend spending some time learning the differences between the 2.

    Market Making Eurodollars

I traded Eurodollar spreads for about 6months. they can have vicious moves followed by days with tight ranges. Be careful not to get ironed out by these shifts! I think the fly levels held fairly well towards the back of the curve (mar11 jun11 onwards) I would often give back days worth of...

Question for prop firm stir traders

I dont think i was completely clear by what i meant when i said scratching.:) What I meant to say was covering roundturn costs but not making any P&L for the day. so 1000 Rt's with £1000 would be a scratch on the day, assuming its £1 a rt.

Question for prop firm stir traders

It depends, if trader A does 50-60,000 roundturns a month but scratches his P&L he can still have a good month as the rebates would be about £20-25k. But if trader B does only does 20,000 RT's his rebate would be about £10,000 but he makes £15,000 P&L So you can make a living just from...

    'beabroker'

When i was working at a small cap brokerage, the new guys would chase leads trying to open accounts all day. Then the brokers who opened the most accounts would get promoted to 'closing' deals, this was where the money was made. Its was similar to a pyramid structure as all the new brokers...
