    Curious

I'm curious what that winning percentage has been, since November of 2008.

daytrading vs long-term vs savings account

20% would be reasonable for a savings account or long term. I would go with the 5% at the CU if there were no penalty for using my money. Keep in mind that with taxes and inflation that's a loss. 20% would come closer to even.

    NEVER LOSE AGAIN!! TheRumpledOne

After looking at this TRO method for a couple of months I have to say that using a lot of obscure undefined indicators to simply see price is moving one direction or the other apparently works for some but is not for me. And all the drama, all caps and huge images over and over are not for me...

It turns out the information from Ameritrade was correct. An IRA does not allow borrowing money to purchase stock or any other security. Also, there is no shorting of stocks.

Well then I certainly won't be encouraging you. As a retired real estate broker, when someone would ask me about running, I would gladly listen and talk with them, or if they wanted to talk about their hobbies, or their kids. Why not?????? If someone responded like you, "hey why don't you...

goodtyneguy you could have answered the question - had you had known the answer. For your own information, IB has not been responding to questions directed to them on this thread. Also their site is rather ambiguous, and not all that informative - ditto for the TWS software. bilal1974, I...

The pointless rambling shows he's in a bad place, feeling sorry for himself and doesn't know how to get out. That is certainly nothing to aspire to though, is it. He is not able to define a strategy, which likely means that he does not have a strategy. Were he really successful then the results...

It would be helpful if someone could explain what the various columns are. Does anyone know? I get the symbol part and that's about it. Thanks.

Big picture call for a bottom

Warren Buffet can afford to buy stock, and what else would he do? It's not like he's going to stuff what he has in a sock. Even if the market does go below 2000, he's better off owning companies than losing it all in banks that keep failing.

Bnaimy, thanks for sharing your ideas. Would you mind saying what percentage stop you use, and how you provide for an exit on runners? Cheers. :)

How much $$ volume. The reason I'm asking how many trades is because I don't know if that makes a difference, or if it's only the dollar volume that matters.
