Morgan, You win/loss is for your trades..... Backetsting will just show you the theoretical stats and you can use this theory in your plan...... if the reality is different..... change your plan....

You have an opportunity to educate some of us. You obviously think I need it. And I agree. I hope I never know everything. So.... your 100% winner please explain what your strategy would be for a 100% winner and what actions you would take.. what is the trade size - 100% or more of account...

If that were the case..... who is taking the other side? No one would take the other side so there would not be a trade. It is a 100% certain loss for them.

Risk 5% per trade and you have a 99% chance of 50% drawdown in next 5 years

Never said you were gambling. But by risking more per trade it takes less losses to wipe out your account. Do you really think you can ever have a trade that is a 100% certain winner? I approach every trade as though it is the next loser. Yes that means also that my return will be limited...

If 70% chance of winning per trade, how much risk to take?

I agreee.... I don't trade full time and don't open that many postions. Just got back around to trading again after a break - due to time contraints... new kids... lots of work etc.... I would be extremely happy with 20% return on a fully loaded account. Last 3 months since I started again...

Risk 5% per trade and you have a 99% chance of 50% drawdown in next 5 years

Sorry. I most definitely do NOT agree. The 1% is important to me. It is the amount I am comfortable losing on every trade. It is the amount that helps me not care about a trade anymore that has been executed. It is the amount that I know that after 10 losses in a row I'll still be...

Risk 5% per trade and you have a 99% chance of 50% drawdown in next 5 years

I was worried I was the only one. I'm afraid to say but if you have to risk 5% of your account to make money or trade for a living ........your account is not big enough. If your aim is to trade full time (and lets face it you are here so that is likely) Grow your account slowly......... you...

risking only 1% of my account....... I have a question..... why are people risking 5% ? Plug in 1% to that spreadsheet and open your eyes.

I'm Nearly in THAT 90% Category

STEP AWAY FROM YOUR COMPUTER NOW !!!! You need to deal with your emotions. I was once where you were. I let my emotions get in the way. You are either too emotional or you are trading size that you cannot handle. I now set up trades at home. Entries and trailing stops. I then go to work. I...

Azdo, Yes if an offshore company is directly controlled in the UK the company is subject to UK corp tax. You can do a few things to make sure this is not the case. Seek Advice.

Tell the truth.Who does/doesnt make consistent trading profits.R U even a net winner?

Maybe those that lose are setting themselves up for a fall by wanting too much? My basic aim is to beat bank account interest.... second aim is 1% a month return...... other than that I don't really care... not trying to live off it (though lets face it that is THE dream)

Tell the truth.Who does/doesnt make consistent trading profits.R U even a net winner?

I'm a net winner. My stops are always set but I often exit a profitable trade too early. However, I trade so infrequently I'm not sure you can consider me a trader.... my last position was shorting SPY at 100 bucks..... how long ago was that?! LOL. And just to prove my first point... my trail...
