The pass mark is somewhere between 65% and 75%. That's as clear an answer as I could get from the CFA. To my understanding, the 'new' IMC now negates the need to additionally take CFA1 in order to be RDR compliant, as used to be the case with the 'old' IMC.

Hi I'm doing the IMC at the moment. If you take the IMC, and then follow on into CFA Level 1, it sets you up for compliance with the RDR and FSA authorisation.

I already have three profitable(for me) methodologies, based around different TF's, which I trade with. I'm now looking to take my analysis of them on to a higher level, and up to current industry 'standards', hence my interest in Sharpe and Sortino etc.

Hi Babypips is a great resource, but is unfortunately a little 'thin' on analysis ratios etc. Investopedia is excellent, but a bit snack-sized in relation to information collection. I was really looking for a walk-through manual, with extensive detail, for all of the analysis tools which fundies...

If you are considering seeking retail investment, then I believe that the new IMC, plus CFA level 1 is the minimum requirement.

Thanks for that-I've calmed down now! Any idea what the difference is between the FTSE closing price(quoted on the news/radio etc), and the later FTSE 'settlement' price? Confuses the hell out of me.

Anybody else have a problem with IG, and their FTSE prices, at around 4.30pm today? Turns out that the stock exchange had forgotten to semaphore the closing price to them, and hence, positions couldn't be closed out online. Why can't they use the same , good old fashioned, never-lets-you-down...

Don't steaming great bear markets like this one usually end with a big bang, ie 'capitulation'?
