That's a great find Neil, thanks for posting it.
It does beg another question though. I had a bet on with igindex earlier in the year - a buy on Tesco would you believe - and ig paid out a 'dividend' when it went ex-divi. 90%, same as I would have had had I actually bought the shares. I got...
If the boat's truly seaworthy then the market will correct even a massive amount of short selling. Maybe I have too much faith in that, but you can see it happening already. If you have a look on the Motley Fool boards, for example, you'll find lots of retail value investors filling their boots...
There was a short selling ban and as I recall there was a point where there were was no bid price for NRK. Literally no buyers in the market. It wouldn't have saved them, but with short sellers in the market there would have been take-profit and stop-loss orders in place if nothing else.
I...
I think the ban on short selling is a bad move in a number of ways. They seem to only be looking the first trade (the sell) in what is actually a sequence of trades. The last trade (the buy-back) is the one they want. The buy even happens at a good time as it will tend to be at (or just above) a...
I think it would also depend on which books you're reading. If the charts on your sb platform can give you the indicators/lines/whatever you need for your strategy then other software might just end up being confusing.
To chip in my tuppenceworth, no it doesn't. The 1.67% chance of 8 in a row is based on a comletely random sample set. By saying that you have 7 winners under your belt you're talking about the sample sets which contain 7 winners and you're back to just assessing the probabilty of a win the next...
AIM's a fairly unregulated market and I don't think the companies on it are held to a particularly high standard. I did a quick internet search and it seems that each company has a nominated advisor (nomad) who's responsible for ensuring that the company follows the rules properly. Perhaps they...
Why not use a broker that lets you hold multiple currencies and buy shares on more than one exchange? That way you can focus on the company rather than the index, as long as the market is big/smart enough for the value in the company to be recognised and rewarded.
Tax treatment of dividends...
It's listed on NASDAQ as APCVZ. It's a tiny company with a market cap of $20M and a current price of just under 12 cents. If you do trade it you'll be waiting around forever to make a profit. Fortunately, I doubt you'll be able to spread bet it with anyone anyway.
If you really, really, really...
Sounds like a chat robot. Replying probably puts you through to an 'operator' of some sort. Least they could do is put in an eliza program though.
There again, they can be re, er, educated

For me I'd be wanting to know why it just hit a 12 month low and just how temporary that issue is. I don't think there's anything on the chart that makes it a screaming buy (but I've been wrong before).
Purely from the chart its been in a fairly narrow range (for this stock) for about 3 weeks...
I liked the video. There's a lot in there that makes sense (to me anyway). You seem to know what you're talking about, but the presentation does let it down a little. I think with even a few extra bullet pointed notes you could be much more fluid and get your point across better.
BTW I think...
I'm not quite sure why statistics would play a large role in a trading system. I can see probability playing a solid role though. In terms of analysing system performance you want to know about your win/loss ratio, risk/reward ratio and the probability of your setup and exit combinations.
The...
