andrewmooton - training with insight experiences

I see that there is a FOREX option for an extra £119 too. Anyone tried it and if so, is it worth it? Is Insight any good for trading index futures?

    EOD Strategy

I have to agree with the Stop Loss comment. Having been stung last year then I should know. After making 30k in 5 months and then seeing it wiped out in 1 month teaches you a valuable lesson! (b*stard crude oil!)

Is anyone here a full time consistent spreadbetter?

Yup. I can vouch for this. Made a whacking amount in July so thought - right, now if I just double my bets I'll be a millionaire soon enough! As you can guess, it didn't go well and now I'm back to square one. Still, it's all in the learning process. I won't do it again!

    SB and XDA

I know that Cantor Index have a good XDA platform. I've used it myself. Their spreads are pretty tight (although not as tight as Capital) and the customer service is pretty good. NTRs are quite steep though (in relation to Spreadex anyway) HTH, Ed

Sierra / IB - Data Share

I had problems with IB / Sierra too but it kicked back into life on Friday. I'm glad that I don't rely on them to make a living - only a sideline.

    Light Crude Trading Tools

Hi, Could someone please tell me what tools I would need to trade NYMEX Light Crude? I currently use Sierra through IB to occasionally trade DOW Futures. Is there any way that I can get live pricing for, say, Light Crude Sept? Do I need to subscribe to anything? I started to Spread-Bet Crude...

    best spread betting service?

Also, you can use the platform through your works firewall which is nice. I can't use Cantor through the firewall. I use Spreadex but the spreads are the widest on the market and there's no online trading - phone only. Hmmmm, must change.

    chris kobewka, 60minute trader etc.

I've just been checking through the archive of some of the results and am a bit confused. The book says to use a 6 minute stop loss yet most of the trades are over 6 minutes and some are over 20 minutes.

    Try 60 Minute Trader

    chris kobewka, 60minute trader etc.

Working shifts and having family commitments I don't get to actually trade it very often but I've tried it a dozen or so times and have only 'lost' once (I'm only trading one or two contracts). That was mainly due to the fact that Sierra Charts' studies are a bit jerky. It could show you that...

The book aims to get 5 or 6 pips per day. Most Spreadbet companies' spreads are 5 or 6 points so if that's the case then you can't really do it using SB. I've set up a trading account especially for doing the 60 minute. It does have a good %age success rate.
