    Scalping stocks using L2 data

The big financial institutions pay highly skilled mathematicians to write programs to do this, these guys have another huge advantage over the little guys in that they pay a much lower spread. As a percentage of ones profits the spread is huge when it comes to scalping and retail traders who...

What's Your View On The Stock Market For The Next 10 Years?

Dow 40,000(ish). FTSE 14,000(ish). The last bull market was from around 1982 to 1999. After 14 or 15 years of bear market conditions P/E ratios are far lower and stocks are therefore much cheaper than they were in 1999 as measured as a percentage of company earnings. For the last decade money...

Obamas lift on a 4decade ban on oil exports

Yeah, I think thanks to shale oil the USA is set to over take Saudi Arabia and become the world's largest oil producer this year and surpass it's 1970 production peak. I believe talk of the USA become a net exporter of oil and gas by 2030 will turn out to be untrue though, shale is the bottom...

    Best CFD broker?

Firstly, I would warn you that CFD trading is not like investing in an ISA. With CFDs you could lose your entire deposit and more! CFD trading is financial speculation on future prices usually with leverage. This is very different to buying shares and having tax free dividends as is the case...

Why do 95- 98% of retail traders fail

Since trading is essentially just competing amongst traders to take each others money most will fail. Most traders will end up giving their trading capital to the few highly skilled traders. When you think of it like that, you kinda realise that the market has to do whatever it takes to make...

    Advice on DMA

With DMA you broker is simply putting you trade directly into the market place. A market maker however takes the other side of your trade and may try to hedge their exposer to your position. If you are trading large liquid markets then a DMA broker is probably best. However if you're looking to...

Are there Forex brokers with unlimited demo practice accounts?

I'd certainly agree that there is no need to rush into a live trading account. I'd rather waste a bit of time than blow my savings.

    Can we trust forex Brokers?

"being a "Registered Company in New Zealand" will not save anyones behind. any 2bit worthless shell entity can show up in new zealand and be registered as an overseas company." Quite, just like a casino being licensed in the UK won't stop them emptying your pockets and kicking you out the door...

    Can we trust forex Brokers?

Firstly, currency trading is extremely difficult. Way harder than trading commodities, indices, individual stocks etc... So it's unlikely that you will become a millionaire doing it but somebody does so lets suppose it's you. Will your broker be happy? That depends upon what type of FX Broker...

Stop loss vs Guaranteed Stop loss

I believe eToro offer guaranteed stop losses so there is absolutely no risk of debt. IG Index also do but I think the increase the spread for this service.

    1:1000 leverage, instant withdrawals.

Hilarious! You know, if I were running broker, and by broker I mean a bucket shop actively betting against the clients I would offer 1000 to 1 leverage. Why would a broker offer their clients something like this unless they wanted their customers to blow up their accounts, it's a near certainty...

    About 1 broker

I don't know, you need to ask yourself questions like - How do they execute trades? ECN/STP/DMA or Market Maker model? Which country(s) financial services authorities regulate this broker. These are probably the two most important things to ask.

Why do I keep losing money at forex?

Forex is very difficult and the only way I know to make money at Forex is long-term trend following which also has huge draw downs. The shorter the time frame the greater the degree of randomness, and on short-term time frames you're basically throwing a dice in my experience. Throw the costs...
