    "Non-dom" doubts

Maybe it isn't that easy: "What about profits for an overseas share trader? The remittance basis can also apply to the trading profits of an overseas share trader provided they're overseas trading profits. However establishing the profits as profits from an overseas trade is not...

    Traders in Malta

I've read that capital gains produced outside of Malta are tax free. Is that true only as long as they are kept abroad? I have read at http://www.mxpmalta.com/malta-high-n...sidence-scheme that if you are a High Net Worth Individual, it's tax free even if you remit them. Would trading winnings...

    "Non-dom" doubts

Thank you very much, mcclaine, it seems like it works as I thought. Now I only need to find a non-UK broker that offers options on US leveraged ETFs :) I've asked Interactive Brokers and they have told me that the money that I have in their account it's considered that it is within the UK, so...

    "Non-dom" doubts

I'm not from the UK residing in another country, but from Spain residing in the UK, so it's the UK where I pay taxes. That's the idea, trading in a foreign broker and keeping the money out of the UK, so I don't have to pay for me winnings unless I remit them. Is that correct?

    "Non-dom" doubts

Thank you for your reply. What do you mean with "It doesn't matter where your broker is, it doesn't matter where the money is, only where you are."? Don't I have to keep the money abroad, and therefore use a foreign broker? I'm currently using Interactive Brokers, but it seems to me that the...

    "Non-dom" doubts

I'm a Spanish citizen residing in the United Kingdom since last year. My parents are also from Spain and live there. I understand that therefore I'm a "non domiciled", and I would like to ask some questions. 1. I trade options on the US stock market. To be able to pay taxes on remittance basis...

    IB - which jurisdiction?

Re: Dunno if this helps? So does anybody know if we can trade with a UK Interactive Brokers account while being non-dom and not paying any taxes if we don't remit that money? Does it have to do with the products we trade (I only trade US products)?

    Forex tax haven question

What do you do with your non remitted money then? I can only think of becoming an Andorra/Monaco, etc. resident and deposit all your non remitted money into a bank account of those countries, but I wonder if you could then move that money to another country without having to pay any taxes.

Malta: trading income = foreign-sourced income?

I also really like Andorra, but I still have to save some money to be able to make that €400 000 investment needed to be a passive resident.

Malta: trading income = foreign-sourced income?

How do they qualify those earnings as capital gains or income? By quantity of operations? By quantity of money won?

Malta: trading income = foreign-sourced income?

I have read that you don't have to pay for abroad capital gains, even if you remit them to Malta. Would winnings from options trading be considered as capital gains and therefore tax free? Or would those capital gains be considered as produced in Malta and therefore taxed?

I'm looking for a broker that accepts UK customers, trades USA ETF (leveraged and inverse) options and is reliable enough. I'm currently using Interactive Brokers, but I would like to know if there's any other good option, to be able to diversify my trading capital between more brokers. Thanks...
