Thanks for the reply. As he resides in Australia I'm not sure how easy it would be for him to open a UK Bank Account from overseas. If its relatively straightforward, then this would definately be the simplest and easiest option.

IMO You want to trade through a broker which offers DMA. To my knowledge most Spread Betting firms are Market Makers, so should be avoided. Ensuring they offer DMA will be more beneficial for you in the long run rather than purely focusing on tight spreads........... Just my 2cents.....
