They aren't quite "rio spreads" anymore. The spread between the bid and the ask on ETF's are so slim, nobody is really making big money. I have profited from Iron Condors over the years and have worked to hedge them with Calendar Spreads to protect against moves that hurt my iron condors.

I agree. You would just want to sell the contract before the expiration. If you capture a profit, which is very hard to do on long options (because of volatility), you would be better served by selling the long calls to capture the profit without the risk of exercise, margin calls or...

I've used ThinkorSwim.com for years. They have several options tools on their platform. I would actually argue if they don't have it on their platform, you don't need it! What's nice is you can look at your risk graph as it relates to current trades and proposed (analyzed) trades...

You can trade options with only $1000. I trade Iron Condors in two Roth IRA's this way. Options are complicated, but not that complicated. What makes it hard is trying to buy long options to make money. Selling Options, and collecting the time decay, is the way to go!
